Construction Company Pays €5,000 to Poor Box to Avoid Conviction

A Kerry based construction company offered to pay €5,000 to the court poor box in order to avoid a convition that could leave the future of the company in jeopardy. 

The decision to pay €5,000 came afetr the construction company pleased guilty to failing to fence off a site on a live school environment. An inspector for the HSA made a routine visit and discovered the potentially dangerous environment. 

The company was charged with breaches of the Construction Regulations: regulation 17.1.h and regulations 30.2c.
