New Children's Heart Centre Opens
Nov 06, 2013
A purpose built facility for treating children with congenital heart conditions has opened at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin. GARLAND are extremely proud to have acted as PSDP and civil and structural technical advisor to the hospital for the project. The Children’s Heart Centre, which includes a 25-bed dedicated infant and child cardiac unit as well as support accommodation for families and staff, was built at a cost of €4.5 million by Clancy Construction under a design and build contract.
The new Cardiology Ward new build of steel frame construction was built directly above the recently completed paediatric intensive care unit while maintaining live the sensitive and critical unit below during construction. The project was funded by the Children’s Medical & Research Foundation and the Fix Crumlin campaign. Find out more about our work within the hospital including the Cancer Ward.
