New Irish Safety at Height Association Guide Published
Sep 10, 2013
The Irish Safety at Height Association (ISHA), of which we are one of the founding members, have published a fourth guide. The purpose of fourth guide is to inform clients (i.e. building owners, facility managers, etc.) of the issues surrounding employees, suppliers or sub-contractors who will be working at height on buildings, with a particular focus on initial access to building roofs or high areas using temporary or fixed ladders. The guide also aims to outline the legislative duties placed on clients and those in control of the workplace with regard to working at height. The guide highlights the conflicting requirements between different current standards and also refelcts on some research carried out in the UK surrounding hoop ladders.
The latest guide featured in the September 2013 edition of the Health & Safety Review
The latest guide is available to downlaod on the ISHA website - www.safetyatheight.ie
The Irish Safety at Height Association (ISHA) was formed by a number of companies, Skyway Safe Access Equipment, Brandon Agencies, Bruce Shaw Safety Management and ourselves with the aim of promoting safe work at height practices in Ireland.
