Tommy Morey

Director

Tommy is an Associate Director at GARLAND with over 19 years of experience in the design, management, and delivery of structural engineering projects. A Chartered Engineer with both Engineers Ireland and the Institution of Structural Engineers, he graduated with First Class Honours from NUI Galway in 2006 and has been a cornerstone of GARLAND’s Limerick office ever since.

Tommy has played a key role in the firm’s growth in the Mid-West region, leading the civil and structural design on a diverse range of projects in Ireland, Africa, and the Middle East. His sectoral experience spans residential, educational, industrial, commercial, civic, and healthcare developments, across greenfield, brownfield, and heritage sites including the Tierney Building at the University of Limerick, the redevelopment of Limerick Prison, and the Critical Care Building at University Hospital Limerick. Most recently, he led the award-winning civil and structural design of the 1BQ development, a transformative project on Bishop’s Quay in Limerick.

A recognised expert in materials issues such as pyrite and mica, Tommy is listed on Engineers Ireland’s IS 465 Register for professionals qualified in assessing defective concrete blocks.

In addition to his project roles, Tommy is an active contributor to the engineering profession, currently serving on the ACEI Structural Committee and having previously served on the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Committee.
