Kevin Rudden is Chief Executive Officer of GARLAND and has over 30 years’ experience as a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer. A Fellow Consulting Chartered Engineer, Kevin is a member and past President of the Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland (ACEI) and a former President of the European Federation of Consulting Engineering Associations (EFCA), representing engineering associations in 28 countries across Europe.
Appointed CEO of GARLAND in 2011, Kevin has led the company’s strategic growth, including its international expansion into the Middle East. His leadership is grounded in a strong commitment to technical excellence, client relationships, ethical design, and the delivery of safe, high-quality buildings.
Kevin’s experience spans the planning, design, procurement, cost control, and implementation of major civil and structural projects across a wide range of sectors, including business parks, airport developments, pharmaceutical plants, healthcare, and manufacturing facilities.
A recognised leader in construction safety legislation, Kevin has been at the forefront of national and European safety initiatives. He served as Convenor of the ACEI/Engineers Ireland Joint Committee on Health & Safety Construction Legislation from 2005 to 2020 and currently represents EFCA on the European Construction Safety Forum. He is a member of the Construction Safety Partnership, the Construction Advisory Council, and the Joint Safety Advisory Panel for the Safe-T-Cert Scheme.
Kevin is also a co-author and presenter of the “Designing for Safety in Construction” course, delivered in partnership with Engineers Ireland and ACEI. He lectures widely on BCAR and construction safety legislation, including guest lectures at Trinity College Dublin.
In addition to his engineering qualifications, Kevin holds a Diploma in Legal Studies and plays a key role in GARLAND’s services to the legal and financial sectors. His combined technical, legal, and managerial expertise continues to position GARLAND as a leading consultancy in Ireland and internationally.
