Iavor is a Chartered Engineer with over 35 years of experience in structural design and supervision. Having worked in Bulgaria and South Africa before relocating to Ireland in 2001, Iavor brings a wealth of international experience to his role. Currently based in GARLAND’s Waterford office, Iavor leads a team of engineers and technicians, overseeing complex structural projects across a range of sectors.
Iavor is renowned for delivering high-profile structural solutions, particularly in the design of steel frame structures supporting high-glazed elevations. His portfolio includes significant projects such as the Waterford Government Offices, as well as award-winning auto trade centres for leading car manufacturers. Iavor has also made substantial contributions to the pharmaceutical sector, with projects that required working within operational plants while managing complex service integrations.
His diverse career includes notable international experience, including serving as Resident Engineer for over two years during the construction of a 6000-megawatt nuclear power plant. His expertise extends to the design of buildings to withstand earthquake loadings, a skill honed through his international work.
Iavor is an expert in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams, collaborating with architects, engineers, and surveyors to achieve the timely and budget-conscious completion of projects. He is also adept at managing the intricacies of client relationships and navigating local authority requirements.
Additionally, Iavor holds the responsibility of Quality Assurance Auditor for GARLAND’s Waterford office, ensuring that the highest standards of quality are met across all projects. As Team Leader for structural and civil design, contract administration, and project supervision, Iavor plays a key role in the successful delivery of a wide range of industrial, healthcare, educational, and commercial projects throughout Ireland.
